Core Web Languages
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and jQuery aren't just tools I've learned — they're the languages I've spent 17 years shipping production work in. My HTML and CSS are particularly precise: pixel-accurate, semantic, and built with accessibility in mind from the start. PHP powers the majority of the web and underpins every WordPress project I build. JavaScript runs the front-end logic, the API calls, the DOM manipulation — and increasingly, the full stack.
CMS Mastery
WordPress — Plugin Author to Platform Builder
I don't just build WordPress sites — I extend the platform itself. I've published original plugins to the WordPress Plugin Library, open-sourced on GitHub, solving real business problems from scratch. My WooCommerce experience spans custom checkout flows, product management systems, and payment integrations. I build bespoke themes and understand the full WordPress architecture: hooks, filters, REST API, custom post types, and multisite.
Modern Stack
React, Node.js & the MERN Stack
I completed the University of Birmingham's Full-Stack Coding Bootcamp in 2022 — not as a beginner formalising a hobby, but as an experienced developer deliberately sharpening skills in modern JavaScript frameworks. I graduated A+ and received the Outstanding Student Award. This site itself is built in React with TypeScript and Vite. I build RESTful APIs in Node/Express, work with MongoDB, and manage version control and collaboration through GitHub.

SEO, Google Ads & Analytics
Most developers hand this off to a separate agency. I don't. I'm Google Certified for both Search and Display Ads, and I've been practising SEO since 2009 — before most of the current algorithm existed. My Lead Stack platform generates over 30,000 qualified leads per year for automotive salvage businesses nationally: a live, measurable proof point that my SEO and PPC knowledge converts. Tools are secondary — strategy is what moves rankings.
Infrastructure
Servers, Hosting & Domain Management
As Director of Host Dada — a Nominet-accredited domain registrar and Microsoft Channel Partner — I manage Apache servers, configure and administer cPanel, WHM, and Plesk environments, and automate hosting operations end to end with WHMCS. I handle security hardening, SSL management, backup strategy, and database administration through MySQL and phpMyAdmin. When I deliver a website, I can host it, secure it, and keep it running — no third-party handoff required.

Leadership, Communication & Commercial Instinct
The rarest skill set in tech isn't a programming language — it's the ability to translate between business goals and technical solutions. My career began in sales, giving me a commercial perspective most developers simply don't have. I've led teams of up to six people, managed client relationships for an agency, and run three businesses simultaneously. I understand timelines, budgets, and priorities. I communicate clearly with non-technical stakeholders and write documentation that people actually read.
