A modern, mobile-first website for a West Midlands SMART repair specialist, built around one clear business objective: let customers reach the team instantly via WhatsApp — no forms, no waiting, just a direct conversation.

The Brief
Midlands Smart Repairs had been trading successfully on reputation and word of mouth, but their online presence had fallen behind. The client came with a clear priority: they wanted potential customers to be able to contact them directly and immediately — not fill out a form and wait. Their preferred channel was WhatsApp, which they already used to manage bookings and customer queries day-to-day.
A refreshed, professional website was needed to support this, one that would reflect the quality of their work and give visitors confidence before reaching out.
The Approach
Rather than building a contact form that would create a bottleneck, the entire site was designed around frictionless WhatsApp engagement. Every key section — the hero, the services listing, the footer — features a prominent WhatsApp call-to-action that opens a pre-populated conversation directly in the customer's WhatsApp app. On mobile devices, this is a single tap.
The site was built as a fast, lightweight React application served via Nginx, with an Express/Node.js backend handling content. The design uses a clean, professional aesthetic with a clear service hierarchy — SMART repairs, dent removal, scratch and scuff repair, alloy refurbishment — making it immediately obvious what the business offers and prompting visitors towards that WhatsApp contact.
WhatsApp Integration
The WhatsApp link uses the standard wa.me deep-link format with a pre-filled message, so when a customer taps the button they land in a conversation that already says something like "Hi, I'd like a quote for a repair." This removes the cold-start hesitation of starting a new chat from scratch and significantly reduces the steps between interest and enquiry.
This approach requires no third-party widget, no subscription fee, and no maintenance — it simply works on every device and browser.
